Our process

01.
FROM THE RESEARCH TO THE SOIL

Our team begins with extensive bibliographic research on each plant species in order to learn as much as possible before we start planting. We then plant in healthy soil, based on the principles of organic farming. We study the needs and life cycles of plants in their natural habitat (in situ) and then compare our observations with the global scientific literature.

We learn about our plants from the first days of their lives. We care for them, and they repay us with exceptional quality.

We cultivate hundreds of plant species to learn about their needs. During cultivation, we have learned to live in harmony with the seasons. We have also developed a new approach to weeds: instead of seeing them as pathogens that must be eradicated, we consider them a critical indicator of soil health that can coexist with our plants: as we achieve balance between our plants and herbs, we learn to improve our own (scientific) balance.

We know that our field has the potential to impart exceptional qualities to many native plant species, such as oregano, thyme, rosemary, sage, and others. Nevertheless, we could not resist the experience of cultivating several non-native plants, such as eucalyptus, echinacea, helichrysum, and many others, to observe how they adapt to their new environment.

02.
FROM THE SOIL TO THE FIELD OBSERVATION

At Alembicon, our cultivation practices and decisions regarding the qualitative differentiation of raw materials are made daily, based on observations of climate change. We treat every part of our fields as a living, scientific laboratory. We collect raw materials and transport them to the laboratory, where the physicochemical conditions for their processing are determined.

The raw materials from our fields, as well as our products, are either already certified organic or are in the process of conversion, with the goal that by the next distillation, all our products will have obtained official organic certification.

03.
From observation to production

We determine the optimal harvest time and the appropriate process for each plant. We harvest and personally monitor the distillations and extractions.

Our compositions are based on a combination of documented literature and internal in vitro data, ensuring the selection of physicochemical conditions that produce powerful, functional, and 100% natural results.

We take samples, examine the quality characteristics, and conduct experiments in our specially designed laboratory. At the same time, we collaborate with scientific institutions to validate our results, ensuring scientific documentation prior to the synthesis of the final products.

04.
From production to analysis and packaging

We analyze the organoleptic characteristics of our products in our laboratory using visible ultraviolet (UV-vis) spectroscopic techniques. We commission certified independent bodies to perform analyses using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) techniques. We standardize in our laboratory near our fields. Finally, we publish the necessary laboratory analyses from independent bodies in the technical documentation for our products. In this way, we certify the exact identity and purity of the active ingredients. We also provide complete transparency regarding composition and quality.

THE EXPERIMENTAL FARM

Our base is at our experimental farm in Melissochori. There, we introduce the pilot crops that interest us and take our initial measurements.

The field

The final crops are introduced into our fields in the surrounding area depending on the soil composition, location, and availability of water where necessary.

the mountain
We experiment with mountain crops or harvest wild fruits from the pure flora of our privately owned 4.5-acre estate in the Flamouri forest in the Vertiskos area at an altitude of 950 meters.
