Artemisia dracocephalica, known as tarragon, is a perennial plant of the Asteraceae family. The species has a long history in cooking and distilling, and specifically the Russian estragon that we cultivate is used in a popular sweet, non-alcoholic drink in Azerbaijan, Russia, and elsewhere.
Παραδοσιακά το εστραγκόν χρησιμοποιείται συνήθως ως διεγερτικό και βελτιωτικό του πεπτικού συστήματος, αυξάνοντας την όρεξη, όπως επίσης και για την αποβολή των τοξινών από το σώμα, ενώ θεωρείται και τονωτικό του ανοσοποιητικού λόγω της περιεκτικότητας του σε βιταμίνες A και C. Στην κεντρική Ασία και τη Ρωσία το εστραγκόν χρησιμοποιείται στην παραδοσιακή βοτανοθεραπεία.

Russian estragon is a hardy variety of the species that thrives in poor soils under dry conditions. It was chosen because of its reduced energy requirements, as it is favored by the soil and climate conditions of our region. To produce its essential oil, the leafy part of the plant is harvested and then steam distilled.
