Sage (English name sage or common sage) is a perennial, aromatic shrub of the Lamiaceae family. It is native to the Mediterranean region and has a long history of medicinal and culinary use. It is believed to have been used in ancient Egypt to treat stomach ailments, toothache, and asthma. The works of the Romans, Pliny, Dioscorides, and Galen refer to its therapeutic use for cramps, coughs, hoarseness, and ulcers, while botanists have also used it for infections and to improve memory.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
